History

Aerogal was founded in November 1985 for passenger and cargo transportation in Continental Ecuador and Galapagos Archipelago.

It started flying to the oriental region in two Domier DO-28-D2 carriers for twelve passengers. Between 1993 and 1995, Aerogal acquired three Fairchild F-27 planes for forty passengers, and started flying to Quito-Cuenca, Lago Agrio, and Coca.

In May 2006, Civil Aviation Board granted Aerogal the Operation franchise for international flights to the Carsam Region and North America as Aerial Transporters. On July 24, 2006, Aerogal started regular flights to El Dorado Airport, in Bogot, and to Jos Mara Crdova Airport, in Medelln.

Today, Aerogal operates 20 flights daily between Quito and Guayaquil, one daily flight between Quito and Baltra (12 weekly flights), four weekly flights on the Quito-San Cristbal-Guayaquil-San Cristbal route, two daily flights between Quito and Manta, two daily flights between Guayaquil and Cuenca, three daily flights from Quito to Cuenca, two daily flights between Quito and Bogot, and three weekly flights between Quito and Medelln.
