Airline Control Systems (ACS) and Hahn Air Lines have signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate on e-ticketing and interline e-ticketing. With the upcoming IATA Simplifying the Business Deadline on May 31, 2008, airlines and their system providers need to upgrade their system environments to meet new ticket distribution challenges. ACS decided for Hahn Air as their partner to facilitate e-ticketing and interline e-ticketing opportunities to their airline customers such as Pelican Air Service, Proflight Commuter and Swazi Express Airways.
Willem van Schalkwyk, founder and MD of ACS, says: "We have chosen Hahn Air as our partner because of their proven expertise in providing e-ticketing and interline e-ticketing services to all ranges of airlines from various parts of the world. Together we ensure the provision of seamless customer service and advanced distribution technology to our African clients."
Hahn Air will provide e-ticketing facilities via their e-go 169® plus product powered by the Amadeus state-of-the-art ETS technology that enables ACS customers to benefit from truly global e-ticket sales. Via Hahn Air's unique business process outsourcing platform, ACS customers will get access to over 60.000 IATA travel agencies in almost 100 countries worldwide. Thus, they will make sure to meet the IATA StB Deadline and simultaneously expand their ticket sales and market presence to the ultimate global scale.
Simon Riha, Director Distribution Solutions at Hahn Air, says: "We are delighted to support ACS in the provision of e-ticketing services that will benefit several small and medium sized carriers from the African continent. We have seen the demand for outsourced e-ticketing services increasing over the past few months, especially from smaller airlines. Together with Amadeus, our ET/IET technology partner, we will provide continued support in view of the preferred partnership with IATA in the Simplifying the Business Initiative."
