Decathlete Michael Schrader recovering from knee surgery

17 February 2016

The 2013 Vice World Champion in Decathlon Michael Schrader, sponsored by Hahn Air, underwent successful reconstructive knee surgery on Monday. Even though the decathlete is working hard on his recovery, the injury puts his Olympic hopes in jeopardy.

Schrader sustained a torn patellar tendon and cruciate ligament in his left knee during a training session for the 2016 Rio Olympics and now doubts that he will be able to participate in the Games at all.

“The injury is a major setback, especially this year”, said Schrader from the hospital. Then he added: “Nevertheless, I’m not going to be mopping around. I’ll do everything within my power to come back. It might take some time but doctors are optimistic that my knee will heal completely.”

Hahn Air wishes Michael a fast and safe recovery!
