Hahn Air announced the start
of an interline partnership with Austria’s largest carrier, Austrian Airlines
(OS). By making its services available on the HR-169 ticket in the Amadeus,
Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan, Austrian Airlines expands its commercial reach
beyond the countries where it is a member of the local Billing and Settlement
Plan (BSP). As a result, travel agents in selected African countries, including
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameron, Cote de Ivoire, Libya, Mauritius, Senegal and
Yemen, can issue tickets for the Vienna-based carrier on Hahn Air’s
insolvency-safe HR-169 document.
Austrian Airlines, the flag carrier of Austria based at
Vienna International Airport (VIE), is a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. If
serves a route network of more than 120 destinations, particularly focusing on Central
and Eastern Europe. Austrian Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance, the first global alliance of
international airlines.
Steve
Knackstedt, Vice President of the Airline Business Group at Hahn Air said: “We
are proud to partner with one of the major European carriers to provide travel
agents in selected African markets with additional ticketing opportunities. Our
cooperation will not only create a positive ticket sale trend there but also
benefit travelers who can now choose the customer-favorite airline to travel to
one of Austrian Airlines’ destinations worldwide"
