Distribusion recently collaborated with Amadeus to enable travel agencies across German speaking markets to access over 60 providers’ intercity and shuttle bus tickets through the Amadeus Selling Platform. Distribusion, a partner of the venture capital firm HR Ventures (part of the Hahn Air Group), has developed the leading global distribution system (GDS) for intercity and shuttle bus rides. The Berlin-based travel tech company connects resellers such as travel and mobility websites, OTAs and travel agencies with bus operators worldwide.
Through this collaboration with Amadeus, Distribusion has made it easier for intercity bus providers to sell tickets in travel agencies across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, increasing the potential to reach new customers. The only prerequisite is a one-off integration into Distribusion’s intercity bus GDS.
Customers are now able to take advantage of complete door-to-door planning rather than just flights and hotels when visiting a travel agent, according to Distribusion founder Julian Hauck. Meanwhile, Amadeus’ Head of Sales, Uta Martens says “Distribusion and Amadeus have the same goal: we want to make it easier for travellers to reach their destination using the means of transportation of their choice, letting them book it easily and all in one place – at a travel agency.”
More than 3.4 million intercity and shuttle bus connections to 1,500 destinations in Europe are bookable through Distribusion. Key bus service providers including Postbus, berlinlinienbus.de and National Express have already signed on with Distribusion with many more are to come in the near future.
