Hahn Air announced an interline agreement with Canada’s
flag carrier and Star Alliance member, Air Canada (AC). The partnership with
Hahn Air enables Air Canada to open indirect ticket sales in 61 additional
markets where the carrier is not a member of the local settlement system BSP.
Travel agents in these markets can now book flights of Air Canada in all major GDSs
under its own AC code and issue them on Hahn Air’s insolvency-safe HR-169 ticket*.
Air Canada is Canada's largest
domestic and international airline. It is among the 20 largest airlines in the
world and in 2019 served over 51 million customers. Air Canada is a
founding member of Star Alliance and the only international network carrier
in North America to receive a Four-Star ranking according to
independent U.K. research firm Skytrax. Skytrax also named Air Canada the Best
Airline in North America in 2019. Headquartered in Montreal, Air Canada flies
to 64 domestic destinations and 158 international destinations across Asia,
Africa, the Americas, Europe, and Oceania.
Hahn Air’s Vice
President Airline Business, Steve Knackstedt, commented: “We’re proud to
welcome Air Canada into our partner network and pleased to offer our travel
agent partners yet another premium ticketing opportunity. Our solutions are for every airline, no matter
its size or business model. Even airlines that already have a solid indirect
distribution strategy in place can benefit from our solutions. With our
product HR-169, we close the distribution gaps of our interline partners, open
new markets and ultimately generate incremental revenue through additional ticket
sales. This is especially relevant in the airline industry’s forthcoming state
of recovery.”
