Hahn Air invites top agents in South Africa to networking dinner

8 February 2017

Johannesburg, 8th February 2017. Last night, Hahn Air hosted a networking dinner for its top travel agent partners in South Africa. The event provided the opportunity to meet Hahn Air’s Vice President Sales and Agency Distribution, Kimberley Long, who pays her first visit to the country. Johan Pauwels, Regional Vice President Airline Business Group Africa and France at Hahn Air, also attended the event which was held at the exclusive pool area of the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton in Johannesburg saw over 80 CEOs, managing directors and owners of South African agencies.

“South Africa is a key market for Hahn Air”, said Kimberley Long. “In fact, it is one of our top markets. The potential is enormous and the market is growing as travel agencies have increased their business with Hahn Air by 10% in 2016 compared to 2015. The support of our partners has been vital to helping drive Hahn Air's substantial growth in South Africa, and we hope this event conveys our appreciation for their efforts.”

Candy Kasonkomona, Hahn Air’s Director Global Account Management for the region, added: “With 70% of travel agencies in South Africa already trusting in our solutions, we have established Hahn Air as the leading ticketing specialist in the market. We are proud that our travel agency partners see us as a reliable and valuable service provider who is making their lives easier.”

Since 1999, Hahn Air has been facilitating global business between travel agencies and airlines. The German airline has specialised in distribution services for other airlines and enables travel agents to book more than 300 air, rail and shuttle partners in the GDS, even if they are not members of the local BSP. They can simply issue the services of the Hahn Air partners on the insolvency-safe HR-169 ticket by using the standard ticketing process of their GDS. Since 2010 alone, over 27 million HR-169 tickets have been issued.
